1st "Trash Pickin' Thursday"!

Calling all Trash Pickers....
Dumpster Divers....
Refuse Warriors....
Rubble Renegades....

Whatever you call it, you either DO IT.....or YOU DON'T.....

Trash Pickin' (my favorite term for it) is certainly not for everyone, but based on the number of responses I received when I posted about my trash pickin' treasures a couple of weeks ago I think there's a few of "us" out there!

So, of course, why not a weekly party celebrating our love affair with the Hefty can?

Each Thursday, I'll be posting all the lovelies (or potential lovelies anyway!) I find OR showing you what I did with someone's trash from a previous week.

Join in by posting yours too!  You can show your finds in all their stinkin glory OR what they turned out to be after you worked your magic, or BOTH!
Oh and be sure to use lots of garbage related adjectives in your post to make it extra special toxic fume fun!  Okay only kidding.  I'll give you enough "cheeziness" for all of us.  Ha!

Linky will be up around 9am each Thursday to give you time to post if today is your trash day.
Wanna see my recent treasures?

1st up - Found last week....

This little poofy Univ of Texas (Hook 'em Horns!) stool thingy!

Will go in the 14 year old's room for sure.  He's a UT fanatic!

And here are the beauties I found this morning!

LONG peg rack.  Don't know what I will do with this yet. Any ideas?

Yeah, this may go back in the trash.  I'm going to see if it improves when it's dry (it was pouring this morning, fun!)
And the REAL prize?
Literally one little peg had come out which I just tapped with a hammer and voila!  Good as new!  And it's FRONTGATE.  Score!!!  1st piece for the patio makeover?  CHECK!

Okay, so let's do some trash talkin'!  Link up and show me your garbage!!!!

oh fun! I don't have any "trash" to share but I do like this idea and hope to have some to share in the future. I'm curious to know where you go a pickin'? I rarely see anything in my neighborhood on trash day.

It will be fun to see what people post. I have never done this...of course I've never had a blog before either...if only someone would put a desk at the curb.

Love the chair - GREAT find! I'm jealous b/c we don't even have a large item pickup trashday here so no good trash finds usually...but I always keep an eye out!!!

Have I told you that I love your ideas for new memes? Looks like we'll be a pickin' and a grinnin' in blogland — trash pickin' that is and a good time will be had by all!

That is a very cool wooden chair! It'll be great for your patio. I am not the least bit proud; I would dumpster dive with the best of them. It's just people around here don't throw anything away. It's sad! If I ever come across anything, I'll link up!

Oh, with the peg rack, knowing me, I would end up mounting it on my workbench to use as a base for spray painting things that I need to stand up. Haha, I never do things normally!

Hi, so nice to meet you. I’m Yoli, a fellow “Texas Blogging Gal”. I made it my goal to visit each member’s Blog. I don’t want to just “drive-thru” to meet a quota, but instead to share the gift of friendship that God gives us all. I’m excited to read your inspirational stories and see your creative works. You are always welcomed at my Apron Senorita Blog.

I was looking for a peg rod a few months ago because I wanted to paint it, add sparkles, and put it up on the wall where I could put my everyday necklaces. I love your ideas and your Newbie celebrations!!

God Bless You!
