A sneak peek at my living room makeover

Last week, I showed all my mismatched accessories....

And what they looked like after I went crazy with white spray paint...

I'm off to a PTA meeting this morning, but I started placing things in the room and wanted to show you what I've done so far.

This was an ugly (and that's putting it mildly) brown lamp I found at Goodwill last week.  I think it looks nice now in my new coastal living room.  I spray painted my red coral GRAY.  See more on that here.

One side of the mantle...

And the other side...

Notice, I'm not showing you the whole mantle.  That is because there is an electronics eye-sore sitting in the middle.  You work with what you have I guess.

And here's just a little something I found last week...

It was on clearance at Target for $14.  Normally, I'm much more of a cheapskate, but I thought this bleached wood tray would be perfect in my new coastal space.

More to come on my living room makeover, including:  new window treatments, pillows and wall decor.

I'm linking this project up to:

It looks so great in white, crisp and modern! You must have gone through quite a few cans.

Have a great weekend!

Wow! That brown lamp is really transformed! I probably never would have given it a second glance. All the coordinating white items look great together.

Thanks so much for linking up to Finished for Friday! Have a great weekend.

It's obvious you have a great eye for things that need just a little love! I am so excited for the room reveal!

LOL! You and I must share some of the same genes. I am (in)famous for spray-painting thrift store stuff. I tend to go in cycles- sometimes everything gets a coat of white, sometimes black.

I love your coastal look. Very cute.

That's a great way to tie everything together, been doing some of that myself on warm days. Thanks for giving me input on the chair. Decisions, decisions, right?

I LOVVVVVVE my spray paint. I don't know if its the actual thrifty craftiness of it, or if it's smelling fumes while I'm working on a project. Aaah, the little thrills for the stay-at-home Mom! hehehe

Don't you just love how things look when they've been freshly painted...all crisp and clean? Paint can really hide a lot of imperfections. All that white reminds me of the snow pics I posted. I love snow for the same reasons...it makes things look crisp and clean!

Oh, I love the sharp contrast of the white pieces against the wall color above the mantle... just perfect.

Isn't it amazing what paint does... in the first two pictures it goes from garage sale mishmash to coordinated perfect pieces! Awesome!

I am sensing a theme here. Ah spray paint, is there anything it doesn't improve?
