A "Beachy" Christmas Tablescape

I linked this project to Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch

and Holiday Linky Friday at The Inspired Room!  Check out these great blogs for more awesome ideas!

I'm just not a traditional red, green & Santa kinda girl... I think holiday decorating should reflect the person's personality and favorite colors (even if it's yellow or lime or some other non-traditional shade!)  My holiday decorating is all about Blue, Chocolate, White & Silver!

For me, incorporating a coastal theme into my holiday decorating was a goal this year.  Now, I didn't do it all over the house!  But, I did decide with my shell canvases in the formal dining room, that it would be a perfect spot to try out something new.

I hung a Lighted Canvas

Then I started working with what I had around the house to create a "beachy" look.

I tied ribbon around my sand colored linen lampshade...

I elevated the lamp on a stack of blue & aqua decorating books.  Then I leaned a little starfish against the base...

I pulled out my white coral.  I placed the smaller one on a silver & crystal pillar holder.  I tied the same aqua ribbon around a white lantern & placed a white pillar candle inside.

I placed a silver charger in the middle of the table and arranged my collection of beach glass & some small shells.  I placed a larger conch shell in the middle.

I filled a silver trophy shaped urn with aqua, silver white ball ornaments and tucked in a sand dollar.

And here's the whole arrangement...

Pretty "beachy" right?  Mission accomplished!

And, I just ran across a FREEBIE that you've got to see!  Head over to It's The Little Things That Make A House A Home where Karla is featuring Leen the Graphics Queen and offering a free $50 to spend in Leen's Etsy Shop just for browsing and telling Karla your favorite decal.  Now, I've never been one for wall decals BUT these are really cool!!!  I've already picked out my favorite in hopes that I win!   Check it out!!

Hey Dena, thank you! You should have seen the dining room last week when I was trying to get ready for that holiday deco workshop. It was a HOT MESS! I should have taken a pic and posted it. It would have made you feel better about any chaos you've got going on! And hey, I LIKE rainbows! (:

Love your beachy corner! I wish my beach glass collection would fill a plate like that!! I just seem to be unable to find sea glass around here.

Maya -- Where do you live? We are in Houston, but had a home in Crystal Beach near Galveston until Ike ate it for lunch! I found all my beach glass there over about 5 years, and that's only part of it!

I love your tablescape, Kendall! I have hurricanes full of shells and just put silver balls and a few blue balls right on top. Red and green aren't for everyone, are they?

Hello! Not quite sure how I found you - but you have one cute blog! And when I read back and heard about PTA - knew I had to say hello!
I think this post is wonderful. Christmas just doesn't have to be red and green anymore. (Although - the blue christmas trees??? nope - can't do that one!) I've been incorporating a lot more pink and silver this year - and liking the results.
Thanks for sharing! Karen @ Some Days Are Diamonds

Karen -- I'm so glad you found me! I just checked out your blog and oh, I'm just in love with your tablescape post! Just gorgeous! And you are a girl after my own heart! I'm very involved with the PTA at my son's elementary school. I recently held a holiday decorating workshop for my lovely ladies during our Holiday breakfast. It was so much fun sharing inexpensive decorating ideas and I gave most of the items I made away, which was fun for all!

Happy Holidays. If there is a beach theme or item I am all over it and you did a wonderful job of decorating. We were all at the beach last Christmas and it was so much fun.
